About

Hi! We are Cub Scout Pack 3412. We are led by a group of dedicated parent volunteers working hard to make scouting fun, educational and accessible to children in our community. Our leaders bring various amounts of scouting experience, professional experience, and life experience to deliver a well rounded scouting program.

The mission of the BSA is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. There are four aims of Scouting: citizenship, character, personal fitness and leadership. We strive to teach the Scouts to live by the mission and to achieve these aims at every meeting, activity, and campout we plan.

Scouting is a safe place for youth to learn the core values, to have fun, and make lifelong friends.

As an organization, Scouting is, at the core, a family – focused organization. We welcome and encourage family involvement in all of our activities.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions, concerns or comments you may have regarding our Pack.

Who Can Join our Pack?

Girls or boys in Kindergarten through 5th grade can be a Cub Scout!
Pack 3412 has always welcomed female scouts, currently about one third of our scouts are girls.

Where and When Do We Meet?

We meet every Tuesday night at 7pm at
Northwest Avenue Church Of Christ
737 Northwest Ave, Tallmadge, OH 44278
Occasionally, with advanced notice, we will meet elsewhere, hiking trails, parks, museums, etc.

What do Scouts do?

We Meet

All grades meet in the same place at the same time each week. Most weeks, the scouts split off into Dens (each grade level has their own den) to work on their adventures (requirements to advance in rank).

One Tuesday a month, all the dens meet together for a Pack meeting, to do an activity together or have a special guest or go on a field trip.

We Go Places

We do several outings throughout the year, such as hikes, trips to local museums or the fire station to name a few.

We Camp

There are several opportunities to go camping throughout the year. Campouts are usually one or two nights at a time at nearby scout camps, Manatoc or Stambaugh, or other campgrounds in the area.
Whole families are welcome to camp with us including siblings of all ages.
Cabins are available if tent camping isn't your thing.

We go to day camp

We meet at Camp Butler for the funnest three days of the summer

Testimonials

What some of our scout parents have to say about Pack 3412.

"I love how family-oriented our troop is - the whole family comes to camp! :)"

"The program has given my child the confidence that he can do things such as camping, hiking, tying knots. Also, guiding him down the path of what respect and being respectful is. Giving my child ways to think about natural disasters and what to do if one occurs. The sense of being part of something that grows and you get out of it what you put into it.
I like teaching kids real life skills and getting them outside."

"I was in scouts when I was young, it was very fun. I am proud to see my child trying scouts and having fun doing it. Scouts has changed some, but I feel the core values are still the same and a great honor, respect and duty to others and self. It give a young individual a great path and an accomplishment that is still respected by colleges and employers today."

"Scouting was a huge part of my childhood, and really shaped my life. I am grateful that my kids will be able to experience it as well, and that j can can experience it with them."
